JayShree Kapoor

JayShree’s works are concerned with depicting a universal expression of spirituality. These paintings are spontaneously composed, from the moment of inspiration, in a meditative state, capturing that brief period of time when there is nothingness.

There is no beginning or end in JayShree’s representation of the power of divine energy, of the omnipresent Mother Goddess: she who is the creator, preserver and destroyer. The paintings are made up of complex layers of colour and texture, with a cosmic energy that is intrinsic to the soul of her work. She is generous with her works, but miserly with her explanation, letting you explore your soul through her paintings. JayShree Kapoor started her creative career in London in 1985, studying for a foundation degree in Art and Design, and her passionate love affair with colour lead her to specialize in print-making.

After many years in the commercial field, composing beautiful, precise paintings for prints, she wanted to explore her skills further as a contemporary artist, and returned to formal study, gaining a First class degree in Fine Art.

She is currently working from her London studio, taking on commissions, and viewings of her paintings. Her works hang in many private collections and last year she was auctioned by Henry Howard-Sneyd of Sotheby’s.
